I’m surrounded by UFOs. They’re laying around almost everywhere. There are blankets, dishcloths, sweaters, a vest, bags, slippers…basically anything you can make out of yarn, there’s probably one laying around my house partially completed. Quite a large number of things simply need the ends woven in or need buttons or zippers sewn on.

This project is the Frost Slippers from Knit Picks. It’s made from Wool of the Andes yarn. This will be my first steeking project. I’m a little bit nervous about it, but a small project like this seems like the perfect thing to try it. I bought two of the kits so I can make a pair for someone else after my practice pair. If you want to make two pair, only buy one kit, then by just the yarn for the second pair. The pattern comes as a digital download, and you can save money by choosing just the yarn you want for the second pair.

This is a Whirl Mandala Cardigan, or rather it will be someday. I’m using Red Heart It’s a Wrap yarn for this one. The pattern is pretty simple so far; it doesn’t look like it will get any more difficult either. I don’t know what I’ll do with this when it’s finished. I just wanted to make it.
Not everything lays around unfinished. This one is completely done. It’s just a simple granny square with a scalloped border. The yarn is Lion Brand Jamie in Pink Stripes for the main portion and white for the border. The yarn came in a really big box of yarn that a nice lady sent to me from Florida to use in my donation projects. This blanket will go into the donation pile. When I get another good sized pile of things, I’ll wash and package them to take to the hospital.

The picture looks a little lopsided because of the way I took the photo. The blanket is square, though.
