I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It’s almost time to start making New Year’s Resolutions. What will you choose to make a priority in your life for the coming year?
One thing that I want to do for 2022 is tame my pile of unfinished projects. I’ve been spending time working on a few of the bigger ones. When I get tired of working on one I switch to another; it keeps me from finishing them, but I am making progress.

Here’s one that I did get done (except for the washing and blocking, but let’s ignore that part for now.) This is just a pair of basic socks, no pattern used. The yarn is Yarn Bee Color Idyll in Lime-Light. The photo doesn’t really do the color justice; it’s brighter in person. This pair of socks is a gift for one of my sisters.

These funny looking things are actually slippers. The pattern is Pocketbook Slippers. I used Mainstays yarn to knit them. This yarn reminds me of Red Heart Super Saver. The pattern is super easy to knit. When you slip these on your feet, they stretch out to fit and look like Mary Janes. I wear women’s size 11 shoes, and they stretch to comfortably fit me. I’ve also made them for ladies with much smaller feet, and they fit them beautifully, too.

I made another Sakura Market Bag. This one is in Yarn Bee Sugarwheel Cotton Sparkle. I love this pattern, and I usually love the Sugarwheel Cotton. I didn’t love the Sugarwheel Cotton Sparkle. It’s the same cotton yarn with a thin thread of the sparkle stuff wrapped around it. The sparkle was broken in five different places. Each time I came to a break, I had to cut the yarn and start again to avoid having broken ends of the sparkle hanging out of the project. When I buy more Sugarwheel, it will just be the regular cotton. It does look pretty cool with the shiny sparkles in it, though.

This little cutie is a Maddy doll. I’m making her for one of my nieces. Making all the different outfits has been fun. I have several clothing items already made up and plenty more planned. I can’t wait to send it to her.
Until next time, I hope you have a fabulous New Year!
