I finished a throw Tuesday for one of my nieces. The yarn is Knit Picks Brava Sport. It’s one of their Hue Shift afghan kits. I didn’t want to knit it like the pattern, though, so I made a crocheted ripple.
There are 10 balls of colored yarn in the kit and 2 balls of gray. I saved the gray back for a border and arranged the other 10 in a color sequence I liked. After working through all the colors, I rearranged them into a different order and worked through them again. I had enough yarn to go through them 4 times each.
The border is a round of single crochet, then a round of half double crochet, and two rounds of half double crochet in the back loop only. It took one ball for the border.
I’m pretty happy with how the blanket looks. It’s ready to be washed up and gifted now.

I also finished up a ponytail hat for a friend this week. She wanted one in blaze orange for hunting. There was almost enough orange yarn left to crochet one, too. The black yarn was what I had with me so that’s what I finished it with.
One lonely hexipuff (#373) gets added for the Beekeeper’s Quilt this time.

Current project on the hook is baby Converse shoes for a friend’s first grandchild. The baby’s dad likes to hunt so camo seems like the right color to use. I haven’t made these things in a long time, and starting on them made me want to make more. I plan to use some of the leftover Brava Sport to make the tops on the extra soles.
